Day 1 |  Arrive in Johannesburg

Welcome to Africa. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, make your way to your conveniently located airport hotel for an easy overnight stay. City Lodge at O.R. Tambo International Airport is directly connected to the terminal via a pedestrian sky bridge, allowing for a seamless walk from arrivals with no transfers required.

Settle in and enjoy a relaxed evening at leisure before your African adventure begins.

Day 2 & 3  | Kasane to Muchenje Safari Lodge

Upon arrival at Kasane Airport, you will be met and transferred to Muchenje Safari Lodge, where your safari adventure begins. Owner-run and known for its warm hospitality, the lodge offers an intimate and personalised stay overlooking the Chobe River and surrounding floodplains.

Located on the quieter western edge of Chobe National Park, Muchenje provides exceptional wildlife viewing and a peaceful setting. Relax in beautifully appointed en-suite rooms with private balconies, and enjoy the lodge’s dining area, bar, viewing deck and swimming pool.

Chobe is renowned for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, offering some of the most rewarding wildlife encounters in Africa.

Day 4  | Victoria Falls | Activity – Dusty Road Dinner Experience

Today you will be transferred to Victoria Falls, where you will stay at Ilala Lodge, ideally located just a short walk from the mighty Victoria Falls and the town centre.

Activity – Dusty Road Dinner Experience
Enjoy a memorable evening at the Dusty Road Township Experience, where traditional Zimbabwean dishes are prepared over open fires and in cast-iron pots. This authentic dining experience celebrates local flavours, culture and community, with a mission focused on empowering women and supporting the local township.

Accommodation: Ilala Lodge (incl. 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 2 dinners)

Day 5 | Activity – Victoria Falls Guided Tour and Lunch | Zambezi National Park Game Drive

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, walk through the rainforest while learning about the history of the Falls and the surrounding flora and fauna, as the thunder of cascading water fills the air.

After your visit, continue to the scenic Lookout Café for a two-course lunch overlooking the dramatic Batoka Gorge and Victoria Falls Bridge, before returning to your hotel.

Day 6 | Activity – Scenic Helicopter Flight over Victoria Falls |  Dinner Cruise Wild Horizons ‘Malachite’

This morning, you will be collected from your hotel for a 12–13 minute helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. After take-off, the helicopter circles the Falls in both directions, offering spectacular aerial views and incredible photographic opportunities of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.

Later this afternoon, transfer to the Zambezi River for a sunset dinner cruise aboard the elegant Malachite. Watch the sun set over the river before enjoying a delicious three-course dinner served on board as you cruise along this iconic waterway.

Day 7 | From Victoria Falls to the Heart of Cape Town

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival, check in to the Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel, where you will spend the next four nights enjoying views of Table Mountain, the waterfront and the city.

Day 8 | Activity – Private Table Mountain & City Tour

This morning, discover the highlights of Cape Town on a privately guided half-day tour.

Enjoy a fascinating diamond experience, learning about South Africa’s renowned diamond and gold trade and witnessing the delicate art of jewellery craftsmanship.

Weather permitting, ascend Table Mountain by rotating cable car for breathtaking panoramic views across the city, coastline and out to Robben Island.

Day 9 | Activity – Robben Island Tour | A Conversation with Christo Brand

Robben Island is one of South Africa’s most powerful historical landmarks. For nearly 400 years it served as a place of exile and imprisonment, most famously during the apartheid era when many political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela, were held here.

Your guided visit offers deep insight into South Africa’s journey to freedom and the stories of those who helped shape its future.

Robben Island requirements:

  • Form of identification (passport or a copy of a passport) when boarding the ferry to the island
  • Passengers must arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of departure
  • Boarding gates close 10 minutes before departure time

A Conversation with Christo Brand

Join Christo Brand for drinks, lunch or dinner and hear Christo share his story and insights into his life with Nelson Mandela. During the course of the meal, Christo will share his unique story from when he grew up on a farm, moved to the city at the age of 12, joined the prison service after the Matric, was sent to Robben Island at the age of 19 and met Nelson Mandela for the first time. It is a unique story of a young, white Afrikaans speaking warder who befriended an elderly black, Xhosa speaking prisoner. Two men who should have hated each other but instead became close friends.

Day 10 | Activity – Private Boschendal Day Tour

Experience the charm of Boschendal Wine Estate, one of the Cape’s most celebrated wine farms.

A guided tour with a local expert introduces you to the estate’s Food Garden, Werf precinct and working farm, offering insight into Boschendal’s sustainable farming philosophy. Following the tour, enjoy a tasting of the estate’s Appellation Series wines before heading to Werf Restaurant for lunch at your leisure (at your own cost).

Day 11-14 | Kapama River Lodge: Safari Begins

Today you farewell Cape Town and fly to Hoedspruit, gateway to the Greater Kruger region. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your luxurious safari retreat, Kapama River Lodge, set within the expansive Kapama Private Game Reserve. Settle in and begin your unforgettable safari experience in true comfort and style.

Accommodation: 3 nights at Kapama River Lodge
